Les politiques sociales (Social policies) : New Issue
Bernard Fusulier and Ivanna Patton Salinas have just edited the most recent issue of the journal "Les politiques sociales" (Social policies) on the theme of "Women, precarity and resilience". The issue highlights the challenges faced by women in various vulnerable economic, social and cultural conditions, in China, France, Belgium, Cameroun, and Canada (Montreal).
Work-life balance : the role of grand-parents
Marie-Agnès Barrère Maurisson (Université Paris I, Sorbonne, France) has been interviewed by the French paper " Sud-Ouest " on her research on the role of grand-parents in work-life balance. She is interested in comparisons with Canada; if some CURA researchers are interested, please contact her or the CURA coordination. Elena Moscova, a post-doc with CURA in Montreal, is also looking into the issue of grandparents’ role in Work-family articulation.
The 2011 Edition of "Les Temporelles"
The 2011 Edition of "Les Temporelles", an annual event organized by the European cities involved in "Time offices and time policies" for municipalities, will take place on September 29 th and 30 th in Rennes, France. This is a very interesting and dynamic network that follows all initiatives in European cities (mainly Italian, Spanish, German and French) as regards the organization of social times and work-life issues, including daycare, transportation issues, work schedules in the city, etc. Jean-Yves Boulin and other specialists of these temporal policies will be present. The 2012 annual meeting of the Society for the Advancement of Socio-Economics
The 2012 annual meeting of the SASE will be holding its annual meeting in Boston, on June 28-30 th 2012. Bernard Fusulier and Diane-Gabrielle Tremblay chair the Gender, work and family sessions and will be organizing sessions on Work-family issues, on Parental leave, etc. Check the SASE website (www.sase.org) to propose papers and sessions !
